Joint Webinar by National Taiwan University Hospital and RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta Indonesia “Updates in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine”

YOGYAKARTA – RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta in collaboration with National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH) held a Joint Webinar “Updates in Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine” at Ruang Webinar, Gedung Diklat RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta, Jum’at, 22nd of July 2022. First of all, the Director of Medical Service, Nursing and Supporting Services in RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta, Dr. dr. Sri Mulatsih, Sp.A(K)., MPH. gave her warm greetings to all of the participants. She explained that RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta and National Taiwan University Hospital have had a good collaboration by years for to improve not only the healthcare services but also share knowledge between the two countries. Dermatology and Aesthetic Medicine is one of the Minister of Health programs that will be good for discussion to improve our knowledge on the updates in these fields, and eventually, can be used and developed the dermatology and aesthetic medicine in the future. The event continued with a greeting from the CEO of the International Medical Service Center, National Taiwan University Hospital, Professor Chia-Yu Chu, MD, Ph.D.

There were 3 interesting topics discussed in this opportunity by dr. Arief Budiyanto, Ph.D., Sp. KK(K) as the moderator. The first topic came from dr. Flandiana Yogianti, Ph.D., Sp.DV as Dermato-Venereologist in Dr. Sardjito General Hospital who presenting about “Update on Skin Rejuvenation Treatment”. This session discussed the overview of what is skin aging, the anti-aging treatment, the current options on skin rejuvenation modalities, and the importance of seeking how the condition of each patient before giving the treatment.

Next, the second topic was “Management of Facial Hyperpigmentation in Taiwanese Patients: Experiences of NTUH”, presented by Prof. Yi- Hua, Liao M.D., Ph.D. as a Professor, Department of Dermatology, College of Medicine, National Taiwan University. This session discussed face hyperpigmentation disorders that can have a huge negative impact on patients. Therefore, the correct diagnosis of this disorder can help the patients to get the best treatment.

Last but not least, the presentation came from Prof. Dr. dr. Y. Widodo Wirohadidjojo, Sp. KK(K) as a Dermato-Venereologist Consultant in Dr. Sardjito General Hospital with the title “Platelet Technology in Wound Repair”. As we know before, the platelet is not only can be used for skin rejuvenation but also can give better attractiveness to scar treatment. In this session, Prof. Widodo presented about the platelet technologies that have been developed and used on a patient at RSUP Dr. Sardjito Yogyakarta. There was Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) which dropped on Venous Ulcer, Platelet Rich Ointment (PRO) applied on diabetic ulcer (bone exposed), Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) gel on suture dehiscence and PRF Lysate combined with multiple mini punch grafts for the diabetic patient. In conclusion, platelet technology is useful to accelerate wound healing of chronic skin ulcers.
