On Monday, 31st Oktober 2022, Dr. Sardjito General Hospital hosted delegates from Princess Maxima Center for Pediatric Oncology for periodic visitation as part of the sister hospital program in pediatric oncology. The Princess Maxima Center, located in Utrecht, the Netherlands, is Europe’s largest comprehensive childhood cancer center. The one week visitation involved a multidiscliplinary team of pediatric oncologists, nurses, and child life specialists from Princess Maxima Center to monitor and evaluate the services at Dr. Sardjito General Hospital. The President Director of Dr. Sardjito General Hospital dr. Eniarti, M.Sc, SpKJ, MMR welcomed the delegates with an opening speech. This was followed by a welcoming speech from the Vice Dean of Education and Research, Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing UGM dr. Lina Choiridah, SpRad(K). Also present To start off the meeting, Dr. Bambang Ardianto M.Sc, SpA(K), as the head of Pediatric Oncology Division gave a presentation on the Current Challenges and Future Direction of Collaboration. Dr. Arjenne Kors, MD, pediatric oncologist as the head of the Princess Maxima Center delegation then presented on the progress and milestones of the collaboration, and gave an overview of the future developments. Lastly, dr. Alexandra Pangarso, M.Sc, SpA opened the discussion session between the PMC delegates, hospital board, and invited guests. We heard from the Nursing Committee, Tumor Board, and the Supervisory Board of Dr. Sardjito General Hospital. We also gained valuable insight from Prof. Dr. dr. Sutaryo, Sp.A(K) as the senior pediatric oncologist who was responsible for establishing this historic, long term collaboration.
